UNIVERSITY   OF   SUSSEX   RUGBY   CLUB

Wednesday night is a big night out for most students across the country as sports teams pile into their local clubs to “shake it like a polaroid picture”. Rugby teams tend to take pride in their fancy dress and Sussex Rugby is no different. With themes ranging from Golf to School Girl to 80’s Fitness, there’s something for everyone. We begin the night at the Islingword where we have our own private function room and discuss the matches from earlier that day and the previous week’s events before taking Pryzm by storm!

Forget about the battle on the pitch; the dance battle on the cheese-room dance floor is what it’s all about.

 

In addition to our Wednesday socials we also have club meals – courtesy of our sponsors Wagamama – as well as the annual Exile’s Pub Crawl and, before you ask, yes there will be a theme. In addition, last April twenty-seven boys had a fantastic week on tuor in Croatia and we expect next year to be as good if not better! Finally, to bring the year to a close, we have our prestigious rugby awards dinner where we prove to the world we can actually dress like respectable members of society. And of course, with the Rugby World Cup starting in September and Brighton being a host city, we’re all bound to fall ill with a bit of World Cup fever!
