AFFILIATED CLUBS

Sussex Rugby seeks to maintain positive and friendly relations with local clubs. Several members of the club play for nearby clubs, including Hove RFC and Lewes RFC.

The Women's side have plenty of other matches outside of the BUCS leagues, including friendlies with these local teams. Every year, the ladies host a match against the Old Girls, in memory of one of our old girls, Natalie Naylor, who unfortunately died from meningitis whilst still at University. In addition, a new cup, which involves a match between Sussex Women and Lewes Women commenced in 2015, which will bring even more excitment into the season whilst strengthening our connections with our neighbouring local clubs.

With help from the RFU, Sussex has been able to establish a 'Game Finder' programme, in which local clubs are able to contact the Communications Officers on the Men's and Women's sides when they are recruiting or are in need of players for matches or friendlies. This gives the members of Sussex RFC an opportunity to not only experience other levels of rugby, but also get the feel for non-university, club rugby.
